As an artist, I like to work in series that allow me to explore an idea from different perspectives. As a prolific painter, it is not possible to show all of my works, but here are samples from some of my series.

My current series, Eve’s Imprint, traces our human migration from East Africa to all parts of the world. Because it is content centered, I am using recognizable images in a symbolic way. Maps are emerging as a central theme.

A recent series, Pilgrimage, reaches back into my years of international work with impoverished, largely rural, communities. These paintings pay homage to specific communities in non-Western cultures.

In the Stone Age series, I was interested in the stories hidden within rocks. Two articles in National Geographic magazine and a trip to Oregon’s high desert precipitated the series which was my transition from watercolor into acrylics.

Color of Joy is an ongoing spontaneous series that is driven by the enjoyment I find in playing with color, shapes, patterns and dream images from the unconscious. It also provides opportunities to explore my feelings around change as a constant in life.

Italian Residency shares work from a one-month residency in Assi, Italy. During this time I created an environmental banner to introduce the Eve’s Imprint series. Environmental events have played a large role in instigating human migrations.
